Ingredients

  • 150 g ripe mango, peeled and diced
  • 100 g plain Greek yogurt (5%)
  • 50 ml whole milk (or water for lighter version)
  • 5 g honey
  • 1/8 tsp ground cardamom
  • 0.5 pinch pinch of salt (traditional)
  • 3 ice cubes

Instructions

  1. 1

Add mango, Greek yogurt, milk, honey, cardamom, salt, and ice cubes to a blender.

  2. 2

Blend on high for 60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy. If too thick, add a splash of water or milk.

  3. 3

Taste and adjust — more honey for sweetness, more cardamom for fragrance. Pour into tall glasses and serve immediately.

Diabetes tips

Carbs come mainly from mango (MODERATE GI ~51–60), blunted by Greek yogurt protein. Enter the carbs into your usual dosing method. The protein from Greek yogurt significantly slows mango sugar absorption. Drink alongside or just after a meal for a more gradual glucose rise. Log in your journal.
